Center for Adoption Support and Education (C.A.S.E.), Provider #1972, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 3/3/2025 – 3/3/2026. Social workers completing this course receive 1.5 general continuing education credits.

Center for Adoption Support and Education (C.A.S.E.) has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7463. Meet the Presenter 

Gwen Bass, PhD, MEd

Gwen Bass Circle HeadshotGwen Bass, PhD, MEd is a parent, educator, researcher, and collaborative consultant with a lifelong commitment to supporting children and families. With a background in psychology, education, and school counseling, Gwen has served as a teacher, counselor, and higher education administrator.

She holds a PhD in Special Education from UMass Amherst and has trained and mentored educators and clinicians across schools, government agencies, and nonprofits. Gwen specializes in trauma-informed, learner-centered approaches that foster resilience and belonging. Her consulting work spans curriculum development, program evaluation, and DEI training for organizations aiming to become more inclusive and effective.

She is also the author of Immaculate Misconception, a memoir that explores her personal experiences with systems that often marginalize difference. Whether working with professionals or directly with kids, Gwen brings a systems-thinking lens, a collaborative spirit, and a deep dedication to equity and healing.
