These webinars focus on a variety of relevant topics for adoptive, foster and kinship parents as well as the professionals who serve them.

Research tells us unequivocally that when an individual experiences trauma, it takes a significant toll on their spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being.

  • What happens to a parent or caregiver who experiences repeated trauma as a result of parenting a child who lives with complex needs, including challenging behavioral symptoms?
  • What can parents and caregivers in this unique position do to protect against the impact of the chronic stress they endure, while also parenting their child in the way they require?

This webinar will discuss signs and symptoms of trauma as it relates to the parent experience. It will highlight relational stress, compassion fatigue and burnout so that parents can recognize when this is present in their life and can take necessary support to address and heal. The webinar will also outline the importance of nervous system health and stability and the small, but meaningful steps that can be taken each day to build resiliency and heal from the trauma endured.
