Meg Eifrig, LCPC is a licensed clinical professional counselor working with adults, adolescents and families who struggle with issues related to grief, loss, adoption and anxiety. She earned her death and grief certification at the Center for Loss and Life Transition under the direction of Dr. Alan Wolfelt. She is also trained in EMDR.
Her main adoption focus is with older adolescents and young adults and serves clients from all areas of Chicago and the suburbs.
Meg believes that adoption affects adoptees throughout the life span. Often big life events like getting married, having a baby or the death of an adopted parent can trigger the earlier feelings of loss or abandonment. These feelings may or may not be conscious or apparent and could manifest in relationship issues or in other areas of an adoptee’s life. Meg has a passion for working with these individuals because she thinks there is a void in the therapeutic community to support these individuals.
