VA FAMILIES: Parenting Children with Developmental Delays Support Group

Are you an adoptive and kinship family member raising a child with a developmental delay?

This 6-week virtual support group will provide support and understanding for those raising children presenting with intellectual and/or developmental delays affecting daily living.

The group will cover the following topics:

1.) What is neurodivergence?
2.) Grief and loss
3.) Resource sharing
4.) Advocating for your child
5.) Connecting with your child
6.) Taking care of yourself

Starts Tuesday, October 21 at 12:00pm – 1:00pm EST

Additional Dates: 10/28, 11/4, 11/11, 11/18, 11/25

Families are eligible for this event and NPAC services if they reside in the Northern region of Virginia and are one of the following:

A family with a finalized adoption (or a signed APA*) of a youth between the ages of 0 to 18 years; families with young adults under 21 may be eligible
KinGAP families
State-funded subsidy families

This event is hosted by Center for Adoption Support and Education (C.A.S.E.) and the Northern Post Adoption Consortium (NPAC) for families residing in the NPAC service region. The region includes: Frederick/Winchester, Clark County, Loudoun County, Warren County, Shenandoah County, Falls Church/Arlington/Fairfax/Alexandria, Fairfax County, Fauquier County, Manassas/Manassas Park, Prince William County, Page County, Rappahannock County, Culpeper County, Stafford County, King George County, Spotsylvania County, Fredericksburg, Rockingham/Harrisonburg, Greene County, Orange County, and Louisa County.
