Calendar Conversations with June in April is an insightful and engaging two-part virtual learning series designed for adoptive parents, foster parents, and child welfare professionals. Hosted by April Dinwoodie—a transracially adopted person and host of the podcasts “Born in June, Raised in April: What Adoption Can Teach the World” and “Calendar Conversations“—this series offers a fresh perspective on creating a deep sense of belonging for adopted individuals.

Using the calendar as a practical and innovative tool, participants will explore key topics such as healthy identity development, the power of building strong relationships, and the urgency of addressing racial and cultural differences. By guiding conversations one month at a time, the calendar becomes a perfect framework for growth, openness, and meaningful reflection, helping parents and professionals navigate the realities of adoption and foster care with intention and care.

In Part One, April will give an overview of the calendar concept to help build belonging and stronger relationships taking the participants through the first 6 months of the year.
