
Calling all kinship and adoptive families in the DMV with kids in 1st – 3rd grade– this event is for YOU! C.A.S.E. is thrilled to announce that we will be hosting this in-person group at our Burtonsville, MD office location. This FREE 8-week S.P.A.R.K.! (Social Skills for Positive Adoptee Relationships and Kindness) group will allow your kids to strengthen their social skills around personal space, making new friends, talking about adoption and much more in an in-person environment with other adoptees their age!

FOR PARENTS: While the kids are in their group, parents will have the opportunity to connect with each other around the children’s group theme for the week. Parents are expected to attend the parent support group for the first three meetings and at least remain on the premises for the remaining 5 meetings.

Due to traumatic life experiences and compromised beginnings, many children who are adopted, who are being raised by relatives (kinship care), or have experienced foster care have higher risks for developmental, health, emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges.
