NTI indicates individuals who have completed the 30-hour web-based National Adoption Competency Mental Health Training Initiative (NTI™). The completion of this training reflects their commitment to learning and growth within the specialization of adoption competence. Vanessa Vaziri, MSW, LCSW completed the Training for Adoption Competency (TAC) program in 2020. Vanessa is currently a Behavioral Health Therapist at the UW Health Behavioral Health Youth & Family Clinic in Wisconsin. Vanessa currently serves the Dane County area specializing in Trauma Focused CBT (TFCBT), Seeking Safety, Eye Movement Desentization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Multidemsional Family Therapy (MDFT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing Interventions. Vanessa works with adolescent aged adoptees and their parents, typically around issues of identity formation, racialized and complex trauma, grief and loss, trauma informed parenting, and enhancing family connection. UW Health Behavioral Health Youth & Family Clinic currently accepts: Quartz and Quartz MA Insurance. Some clients may also be eligible to receive low to no cost grant-funded services, please inquire directly for additional information.
Vicki K. Colls, MA completed the Training for Adoption Competency (TAC) program in 2021. Vicki is currently an Adoption Coach in Georgia. Vicki currently serves the Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and Alabama areas specializing in adoption coaching for expecting mothers and fathers, birth mothers, and adoptive parents. Vicki currently accepts private and sliding scale payments.

Due to traumatic life experiences and compromised beginnings, many children who are adopted, who are being raised by relatives (kinship care), or have experienced foster care have higher risks for developmental, health, emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges.
