Prince George’s County, MD —
On Saturday, April 13, 2024, The Center for Adoption Support and Education (C.A.S.E.) ™ and Styles 4 Kidz (S4K) will hold a free, fun and educational Haircare Workshop at Prince George’s Community College for transracial adoptive and foster parents/caregivers with a focus on textured hair basics for children of color.
Two workshops are offered – 9:00am-12:00pm or 12:30pm-3:00pm. Parents will receive hands-on instruction and practice with the guidance of S4K experts on several basic hairstyles for long hair and hands-on instruction on styling and moisturizing shorter hair. All products and materials are provided.
“We are excited to host the Styles 4 Kidz Haircare Workshop, specifically designed for transracial families. This workshop plays a vital role in enhancing parental confidence in styling their child’s hair, while also fostering the child’s self-assurance and strengthening the bond between parent and child. By providing practical skills and knowledge, this workshop aims to empower families to embrace and celebrate their unique haircare needs. Join us in this collaborative effort to promote confidence, connection, and inclusivity within transracial families,” Debbie Riley, C.A.S.E. CEO and Adoption-Competent Therapist.
These workshop sessions are FREE thanks to our generous partner Jockey Being Family.
