Ellen Singer, LCSW-C, Senior Adoption-Competent Therapist and Training Coordinator, earned her M.S.W. degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and her B.S.W. degree from the University at Albany, SUNY, with a Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Institute for Juvenile Research, University of Illinois. She has more than 30 years of experience providing individual, couple/marital and family therapy to prospective parents, adoptive parents, adult adopted persons, and expectant/birth parents. Her areas of expertise include: coping with infertility, making the decision to adopt, open adoption, search and reunion, third party reproduction, anxiety/depression, and relationship issues. Ellen incorporates the Internal Family Systems model into her therapeutic approach, as well as Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy. She also provides parent and professional education, and is a key author of C.A.S.E.’s publications and contributor to other adoption publications. She is a parent by adoption and by birth.
