We are a couple from Philadelphia with four adult children and many wonderful grandchildren. Our oldest daughter fosters and we would help. Needless to say, we started to foster (that is also a story in itself). We currently have six children, three siblings we adopted in June. The other three are moving towards adoption also. The children were returned to their formal foster home after about three months. Our hearts were broken. Why would they go back to a place where they weren’t loved. Half an hour later I got a phone call our babies were coming home!!! Adoption has been a beautiful journey with every emotion mentionable. Definitely not an easy one picking up pieces of past lives while trying to put together a life where we become a family. I explained to the oldest that although this is not how she expected how her life would play out, God had a plan, and we would be there every step of the way. Having an awesome support system from an amazing husband who helps in every aspect to my children and family guiding us and offering all kinds of help (activities, providing date night ext.) We decided on open adoption and have a newly extended family we know this is not possible in all situations. All have different stories all we can do is try our best.
