Who knew that in December of 2015, we would get an early Christmas present. We got a call in February from our local DHR office, who said that they had a little girl who needed a home. She was eight months old and a chubby little thing. She was very guarded, but we loved her deeply. We spent time holding her and playing with her. Within 10 short months, we were before the judge giving her a forever home. She opened our hearts and showed up what real love is. Days are not always easy, but we learned you fight for the ones you love. With early intervention, therapy, and consistency, her walls have come down and she know freely gives hugs and kisses. We went on to adopt two more little girls because of our experience. Because of adoption, our little girl has something to smile about.
