Renee Johnson, LPC, serves children and families, primarily children between ages 2-10. She works with international and domestic adoptive families as well as foster families. She provides emotional support for the child or children involved and is a resource for parents to navigate the unique needs and challenges of children who have been adopted or are in foster care.
Renee involves the children’s parents into the therapeutic process and meets with the entire family unit at times as well as with the parents individually to work on attachment-based parenting skills. Renee is trained in play therapy and is a registered play therapist (pending application approval.) She specializes in meeting the emotional, behavioral and relational needs of children through developmentally-appropriate needs. Renee is also trained in Child-Parent Relationship Therapy, which is an attachment-based, child-focused discipline and relationship building model for parents and children.
