Heather Sherman, LCSW completed the Training for Adoption Competency (TAC) program in 2022. Heather Sherman is currently a mental health therapist at Be Heard Place in Oregon and Washington. Heather currently serves the rural areas outside of Portland, OR in-person and clients throughout Oregon and Washington via telehealth focusing on working with adoptive parents as well as teen and adult adopted persons. As an adoptive parent herself, she has focused for the last 10 years on education and training that has made her a more adoption-competent therapist and parent. In addition, she supports parents of children with special needs, learning disabilities, or experience with trauma. Heather also works with teens and young adults in the areas of transitions and mental health support and has over 15 years of experience working with the population. Heather currently accepts many major insurance plans, including Medicaid, Medicare, Aetna, Cigna/Evernorth, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Moda, First Choice, PacificSource, United, Optum, Providence, UMR, and MHN.
