When human beings are stretched trying to manage tight timelines and juggling many priorities at once it leads to a high level of anxiety. My greatest passion is helping people who are in high stressed environments. I help organizations ensure projects are completed on time and within budget with my positive energy and organizational skills. I have 10 plus years experience working in the child welfare field. I began my career working for former Senator Mary Landrieu as her Legislative Correspondent in Washington, DC supporting her child welfare portfolio. I continued my career working for policy with my most recent job as a Project Coordinator as part of the Children’s Bureau’s Child Welfare Capacity Building Collaborative called The Capacity Building Center for States.
I was adopted from the United States foster care system close to my 15 birthday. I am very blessed to have my family who helped me to become the mom, wife and professional I am today. My educational background includes a B.A. in Human Services from Stevenson University in Baltimore, Maryland. I recently completed a Project Management course and am studying for my Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
In recognition of Foster Care Awareness Month (May 2021), C.A.S.E. interviewed Betty about her experiences. Read her blog article here.
