Barbara L. Dewey, LICSW serves foster and adoptive families, teens launching into adulthood, those with severe and persistent mental illness such as anxiety, depression, bi polar and trauma. Her clients reside across Nebraska and she provides services through telehealth as well as in person. She sees clients from her private practice within her home and has a hypoallergenic dog who assists with therapy. Barbara also facilitates “Circle of Security” classes, which is a relationship-based parenting program. Barbara has a strong belief in the benefits of open adoption and that behavior is a reflection of unmet emotional needs. Barbara is an adoptive mother of a sibling set of three who are now young adults. She accepts most insurance plans except Tricare. She does not have a sliding scale but does accept self-pay as well as contracts with Departments of Health and Human Service agencies. Barbara’s bio can also be found on Psychology Today.
