Congratulations! Your adoption is finalized. Now what?
All families who have finalized adoptions from foster care in Virginia beginning July 2017 are eligible for services up to 12 months from the date of finalization at NO COST to families.
Case management services will assist families in accessing appropriate services and resources through community-based linkage and referral, education, advocacy and connection to formal and informal support groups.
The goal? To ensure life-long successful families continue to thrive and grow while celebrating the unique attributes of forming a family through adoption. Services will be family-driven and trauma-responsive using an adoption competent model to engage and empower families to be successful now and in the future to promote life-long connection and permanency.
How can families access this program?
Referrals will come through the local department of social services at the time of finalization. Families who are in the finalization process will be contacted regarding these services post-finalization. If you are a Child Welfare Professional, click here.
What if I don’t need services now, but decide I do in the future?
Services are available to you for up to one year from the time your adoption was finalized. Once you begin services, they can last up to 12 months.
However, if more time has elapsed, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to be directed to other resources.
Are there additional educational resources available through this program?
Yes! Families can access C.A.S.E.’s FREE MONTHLY WEBINARS – created specifically for adopted families on relevant topics of interest.
Even if you don’t need case management services now, you can still access the webinars for free using code CASEVA when registering. Download the full 10-month schedule of monthly live stream webinars on the side panel on this page.
Who can be contacted for more information?
