Teens today are uniquely emotive, often creating new ways to express themselves. We will focus on encouraging our teens’ multi-faceted forms of expression and refining them to ensure their voices are heard and valued.
This year, we will form two teen groups; one for 8th and 9th graders, and one for 10th-12th graders. All teens will engage in creativity and teamwork for painting, interpretive dance, poetry and storytelling. We will draw from the seven core issues in adoption as we delve deeper into the meaning behind their artistic expressions; finding ways to connect the pieces of their adoption story. Teens will discuss challenges they face when they are feeling disconnected, identifying skills to manage emotions, improving relationship skills and building a sense of connection through artistic expression.
Participants should wear comfortable clothing and shoes that allow for easy movement.
