Don’t miss this special opportunity to join a special, six-week support group with adoption and adolescent expert Debbie Riley, LCMFT, the CEO and co-founder of the Center for Adoption Support and Education™ (C.A.S.E.).
A nationally recognized adoption expert, Debbie is the award-winning author of Beneath the Mask: Understanding Adopted Teens, a first-of-its kind book praised by clinicians and adoptive parents across the country for its groundbreaking therapeutic approach.
The task of adolescence is challenging—and it’s even more challenging for teens who are adopted. For many of them the journey is not easy as they ponder questions surrounding their identity and re-evaluate their relinquishment. Why did they give me up? How can I figure out who I am when I don’t know where I came from? Did my birthfather mean anything to my birthmother? Why did they leave me, what’s wrong with me? Who do I look like??
This FREE support group will focus on the specific challenges for adolescent adoptees and strategies for parents to support their teens during these challenging times. Topics include adolescent development, identity formation, and the six stuck spots that occur for adolescent adoptees.
