Register now for the Communicative Openness Parent Support Group! This 6-week webinar/parent support group will cover how adoptive parents can communicate with their children (through age 12) to help them understand and process their adoption story.
Participants will learn:
Practical advice is offered to help parents anticipate their children’s questions and concerns and learn effective, appropriate ways of responding. Content can be tailored to specific audience needs, such as focusing on a particular age group, depending on the make-up of the workshop. Parents will also be provided support in learning how to manage their own thoughts, feelings, and reactions to their child’s adoption story and questions in order to best prepare them to feel successful in communicating with their child.
Communicative Openness Parent Support Group will meet via Zoom on Thursday (July 14th, July 21st, July 28th, August 4th, August 11th, August 18th) from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm PST. The group series starts with a webinar on communicative openness followed by 5 parent support group sessions that dive deeper into issues around communicative openness.
