Is your child/teen experiencing academic/learning challenges or social/emotional difficulties? Our Adoption Sensitive Evaluation and Support Services (A.S.E.S.S.) program will help you identify the underlying issues behind these challenges.
C.A.S.E. and The Stixrud Group have joined forces to offer this collaborative, integrated evaluation program for children who have been adopted or in foster care and their families. A combination of a thorough neuropsychological assessment from The Stixrud Group and a comprehensive psychosocial evaluation by a C.A.S.E. clinician can lead to a better understanding of your child’s overall functioning can help to determine targeted strategies for academic, emotional and social success.
What to Expect
You and your child will receive a comprehensive intake evaluation by an adoption-competent C.A.S.E. therapist who will explore your concerns, strengths and areas of challenge, including your child’s processing of his or her adoption experience. Next, your child engages in neuropsychological testing with The Stixrud Group designed to clarify cognitive, academic, and social strengths and weaknesses. Our findings are then integrated and interpreted for you by the neuropsychologist and your C.A.S.E. therapist with recommendations for effective intervention. In addition to a written report prepared by the Stixrud Group, a feedback session is scheduled with your child to discuss evaluation results.
