By adolescence, a teen’s perception of his/her personal adoption journey begins to take on new meaning. Though they have developed many skills in asking as well as answering questions related to adoption, they begin to look forward to futures outside of their adoptive home and comfort zones. Additional skills may be needed to help them navigate new emotions, cultural stereotypes and separation from parents. Using our ocean theme, teens will explore how, as they dive deeply to better understand their own unique identity, they can discover new, surprising and beautiful facets of themselves. The teens will also create an art project using recycled materials to represent their hopes and dreams for the future.
